The Shaking of Israel

“I will shake the house of Israel together with all the nations” (Amos 9:9).

What is happening in Israel is more than humans can explain.

Terror, tragedy, torment. Details too horrible to account for Israel and Gaza. This isn’t tribulation yet. It is shaking, and God is doing the shaking. He is not responsible for the actual atrocities that have occurred; sinful, wicked, angry, frightened people are the ones responsible for their choices, their deeds, and their intentions. But, God is shaking the house of Israel along with the rest of the world.

The shaking won’t stop until Israel’s messiah and king ends it.

The solution isn’t political or with the use of force. It is spiritual. The solution must come from heaven. Jesus put it this way, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the hostages, recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor” (Luke 4:18–19). Israel’s hard heart toward God is shaking, but there is good news coming.

The gospel of Jesus sets people free.

That is what Israel needs now… and Gaza… and all the nations of the world.
